Members of the SDAC re-appointed for a second term

Minister of Environment and Tourism Pohamba Shifeta announced the re-appointment of the members of the Sustainable Development Advisory Council during a press conference on November 3rd 2015. The Minister praised the members for their performance but outlined that he wanted the council to be more visible and vocal in order to influence the national discourse on sustainable development.

Namibia’s first ever Sustainable Development Awards took place on the 13th May. The awards, a joint initiative of the Sustainable Development Advisory Council and the Environment Investment Fund of Namibia, were designed to honour outstanding efforts in promoting environmental sustainability across five categories.
