Entries open for the 2017 Sustainable Development Awards

Entries are now open for the 2017 Sustainable Development Awards.

The main aims of the 2017 Sustainable Development Awards are to:

  • Raise awareness of the importance of sustainable development among all Namibians,
  • Recognise and reward the outstanding contributions of organisations and individuals active in this field
  • Inspire others to contribute to the sustainable development of the nation.

Closing date for entries is Monday 14th August 2017.

This year’s categories are:

  1. Private Sector Champions for Sustainable Development with sub-categories focusing on sustainability practices among start ups, Small and Medium Enterprises as well as established companies and parastatals;
  2. Community level natural resource management and utilisation initiatives;
  3. Research and Development to reward outstanding research or innovations undertaken in the field of sustainable development;
  4. Pioneering journalism in the field of sustainable development, which will reward outstanding performance in the areas of best print media, best social media, best radio and best television; and
  5. Youth Action for Sustainable Development, which focuses on youth leadership and youth initiatives in the area of sustainable development.
